TrainsNews covers global rail news every day in English and French. These are the rules we apply to every story.
Sources first
Every story starts from a primary source: government, infrastructure manager, operator, manufacturer, tender notice or investigation report. It is cited and linked in the text and listed with its date at the end. When information comes from another outlet, we say so.
Checked figures
Amounts, fleet sizes, distances and dates are checked against the source before publication. Foreign currency amounts are converted where useful.
Human review before every story
Stories are prepared with the help of artificial intelligence, then reviewed and approved by our international railway expert, who takes editorial responsibility. Nothing is published without that sign-off. Details in our AI policy.
Analysis, not rewritten press releases
Every story explains what the news changes for operations, signalling, rolling stock or passengers. Company claims are attributed ("according to Siemens") and superlatives are quoted.
Real, credited photos
Official press photos or freely licensed images, with author and licence under each one. No AI-generated images.
Errors are corrected and flagged
Spotted an error? Email contact@trainsnews.com. We correct quickly and add a line at the end of the story: "Correction, [date]: …". Significant corrections are also listed on our Corrections page.
Independence
TrainsNews has no ties to any operator or manufacturer. Affiliate links (for example to Omio in our travel guides) and sponsored content are labelled; they do not change our stories or conclusions.
