About the Event

The first ERS Passenger Summit takes place on 18-19 November 2026 at the Hotel Iris Eden in Prague. It is organised by Vilnius-based MB Rolling Stock Hub and builds on two editions of the European Rolling Stock Summit, the latest held in Warsaw in March 2026. Under the banner "Shaping the Future of Passenger Rail in Europe", attendance is capped at 150 delegates, so expect a senior-level conference rather than a trade fair.

At a glance

  • Dates: 18-19 November 2026.
  • Timings: day 1 from 08:30 to 18:00, then extended networking until 20:00; day 2 from 08:30 to 14:30, networking until 16:00.
  • Venue: Hotel Iris Eden, Vladivostocká 1460/2, Prague 10.
  • Organiser: MB Rolling Stock Hub.
  • Audience: senior people from operators, infrastructure managers, manufacturers, lessors, policymakers and technology suppliers across Western, Central and Eastern Europe.
  • Size: 150 delegates maximum.

Programme highlights

Four strands frame the agenda: market, policy and economics (national and EU funding, Polish market opening, buying versus leasing fleets, Chinese competition); supply chain and procurement; technology and the passenger (5G, certification, digitalisation); and people and safety (accessibility, automation, labour shortages).

MÁV chief executive Zsolt Hegyi opens day one with a keynote on rail funding at a turning point. Other sessions feature Vincent Mallet of SNCF Voyageurs on TGV M pre-revenue trials, Alpha Trains' Stephan Wegert on operating leases and a fireside chat on delivering Europe's high-speed network, moderated by UNIFE Director General Enno Wiebe with Christopher Carr of the EU Agency for Railways. Day two turns to AI and automation at BKK Budapest, NIS2 and Cyber Resilience Act compliance, UIC's OMMT framework and cross-border ETCS in South-East Europe. A few slots are still marked TBC.

Why attend

Central and Eastern Europe is placing large passenger fleet orders, and this compact format puts suppliers and lessors in the same room as the buyers. In the TrainsNews team's view, it is of high interest for rolling stock and of solid interest for operations.
